Help bring our historic Carnival celebration back to Stockport!
Earlier this year it was announced that Stockport Carnival was cancelled, with the Facebook post being shared thousands of times by people across Stockport.
We all have fantastic memories of watching the Carnival parade and visiting the funfair at Woodbank Park. Many people offered to help bring the Carnival back and now we need to make sure that this tradition carries on in future.
There are already a group of us interested in doing this and we are having a public meeting upstairs at The Produce Hall to get more interest and establish a new committee, to bring the Carnival back to Stockport in 2020!
Please come along and join the discussion – it’s a Stockport tradition but we also want as many new ideas as possible. If you can’t make it along then please fill in this survey instead or as well:
This event will be set up on the official Carnival Facebook page soon. Thank you for your support Stockport!

Raising money for local charities

It’s not just about having a fun-filled day in Stockport – every year Stockport Carnival raises thousands of pounds for local charities and community groups. If you’re coming to watch the parade please keep an eye out for the collection buckets and give what you can.

Volunteers wanted

The carnival is run by a small team of hard-working volunteers but we’re always in need of extra pairs of hands to help keep this wonderful Stockport tradition alive. Could you spare a few hours to help?

This year we’re are especially in need of people who could help as marshals on carnival day. If you can spare some time to help us please get in touch via our contact form.
