A thank you message

Crowds at Woodbank Park for Stockport Carnival

Thousands of people stream into Woodbank Park for the 2016 Stockport Carnival

The carnival committee would like to thank everyone who came to Stockport Carnival on Saturday. We were thrilled that so many people came out to support all the people and groups taking part.

See you all again next year!

“Just wanted to say Thank You to the people of Stockport for another fabulous Carnival Day! The sun was shining, the crowds were out, people had fun. Thanks to everyone in the parade, the local groups and associations that join us and support us each year, the people who travel a distance to support us on the day! The fabulous marching bands and dance troupes, the people who spend hours decorating floats to show off in the Parade. The walking groups with so much energy and enthusiasm !! Thank you to the stall holders that travel far and wide, bringing food, and other great things to sell on the park. From the ridiculous to the sublime, we thank you all ! But mostly to our group of volunteers who work so hard all year round and especially so today, to make it a great day,for young and old alike. Their enthusiasm and commitment is second to none. The end result being local charities benefit from what the Carnival raises. So a huge round of applause to each and every one of you who made Stockport great today!!!”
